Services that go Above and Beyond

Pre-enrollment

Whether you are expecting a new baby or searching for a new pediatric provider for your children, this is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other. These complimentary consultations can take place in the office, via telemedicine, or in your home. When expecting a new baby and after the consultation, you may feel free to call or text if you have questions or concerns regarding your baby’s well being at any time in the perinatal period (before and after delivery).

Home visits for children's healthcare

Sometimes coming to the office with a newborn or sick child is more than just stressful. This is especially true for special needs children, families with multiple children, or when you are not feeling well enough to be driving. There is no obligation to enroll to schedule a consultation with an initial home visit.

Developmental screening

The Office of Early Childhood Development states that as many as 1 in 4 children aged 0-5 are at moderate or high risk for developmental, behavioral, or social delay. Despite this, national guidelines require few standardized developmental and level 1 autism screenings in pediatrician offices. Concierge Pediatrics exceeds national guidelines in developmental care. All infants and young children get thorough developmental screenings at EVERY well child visit from newborn to 5 years of age and level 2 screens for high-risk children. These help to differentiate between autism and other delays, providing more focused interventions earlier and with less risk of missed or misdiagnosis.

NICU follow up

NICU follow-up care is often fragmented amongst several specialists and requires frequent visits to multiple offices. Having a primary care provider who is an expert in the common problems that NICU graduates cope with allows for the majority if not all the care to happen in our office. Specialty referrals are reserved for when medical subspecialties are deemed necessary for the treatment of complex issues requiring advanced diagnostic, specialty pharmacologic, or procedural interventions.

Immunizations

We highly recommend that children eligible to receive their scheduled immunizations do so as per national guidelines for children's healthcare. We understand that you may be experiencing hesitancy due to concerns for vaccine safety, side effects, and pain related to injections. At Concierge Pediatrics, we welcome the opportunity to listen with genuine empathy, provide reliable information, and respect your decisions.

All families can benefit from therapy. Shot of a family meeting with a therapist.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy: A Path to Harmony
Family therapy offers a supportive space where families can come together to address challenges and strengthen their bonds. It’s a journey that involves exploring relationships within a family, understanding each member’s perspective, and developing effective communication strategies.

Whether it’s navigating the complexities of blended families, coping with a child’s behavioral challenges, or supporting a loved one with a chronic illness, family therapy provides a structured framework for addressing these issues collectively.

By delving into the heart of family dynamics, therapists help individuals understand how their actions and interactions impact the overall well-being of the family unit. Through open communication and shared problem-solving, families can develop healthier patterns of relating, build resilience, and create a stronger foundation for the future.

Ultimately, family therapy is about investing in the strength and unity of the family as a whole. It’s a process that empowers families to overcome obstacles, foster growth, and create a lasting legacy of love and support.

Therapy for Kids and Teens

Therapy helps children and teens cope with challenges affecting their emotions, behavior, or learning. Therapists address a wide range of issues, from family and school struggles to anxiety, depression, trauma, and even technology use.

Therapy involves talking, learning new skills, and practicing healthy behaviors. Kids might play, draw, or talk to express themselves, while teens often focus on problem-solving and coping strategies. Therapists offer support, guidance, and praise to help children build confidence and resilience.

Parents play a crucial role in therapy by attending parenting sessions, supporting their child at home, and maintaining open communication with the therapist. Consistent support and encouragement can significantly enhance a child’s progress.

Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs)

Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders include postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. Postpartum depression and anxiety are the most common mental health conditions affecting women after childbirth. These disorders can significantly impact both mother and child, affecting bonding and child development.

Common symptoms of PMADs can include:

Treatment options for PPD: Therapy: Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and interpersonal therapy (IPT) are effective in addressing negative thoughts and improving relationships. Person centered therapy, somatic and creative modalities are also helpful in processing birth traumas and other challenges.

Medication: Antidepressants may be prescribed, with careful consideration for the mother’s health, specific needs and goals.
Support groups: Connecting with other mothers experiencing similar challenges can provide comfort and practical advice.
While PMADs are treatable, early intervention is crucial. A combination of therapy, medication, and support often yields the best results. Regular check-ins with healthcare providers are essential for monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.

Remember, seeking help for PPD is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Neonatal & Pediatric
Primary & Acute Care

After graduating in 2005, I pursued nursing, specializing in neonatal and pediatric care at UNM Children’s Hospital. I earned a Master of Science in nursing administration while working there. Then furthered my education at Arizona State University, becoming an advanced practice neonatal nurse practitioner. I gained experience at Phoenix Children’s Hospital before moving to Dallas in 2010, where I focused on caring for premature infants at Baylor University Medical Center. I expanded my expertise in primary and acute care pediatrics at The University of Texas. Now in Washington, I established Concierge Pediatrics in Gig Harbor, bringing my triple board-certified ARNP credentials and near 20 years experience in neonatal, primary, and acute care pediatrics.

Testimonials
5/5

“We recently moved our baby over to Concierge Pediatrics after some incredibly long wait times at our first pediatrician at her first few appointments. Jonathan was wonderful and we’re so glad we made the switch. He was great with three month old, very knowledgeable, and great with our questions. On top of that, scheduling was so easy, Jonathan was on time, and there were all these little touches in the office (warm blankets for weighing newborns!) that just made it a great experience.”
